Using PERC to calculate your retirement income
PERC stands for Personal Enhanced Retirement Calculator. PERC lets you estimate how much income you can draw from all of your financial assets in retirement. It is based on the ideas in the book “Retirement Income for Life: Getting More without Saving More” by Frederick Vettese*.
The target audience includes anyone between 50 and 80 who is within 10 years of retirement or already retired. PERC is especially useful to people relying heavily on their savings rather than defined benefit pensions. It is available here at no charge and no obligation and the results are entirely confidential.
To get the most benefit out of PERC, users are encouraged to read “Retirement Income for Life”. The book is available online at Amazon.ca and chapters.indigo.ca. It is also available in bookstores.
* Frederick Vettese was Chief Actuary of Morneau Shepell from 1991 to 2018
